Mantalai Temple

One who comes to Jammu for darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi do not forgets to visit around places. These days Patnitop has become the most preferred destinations for Jammu tourists. It is approx 110 Km from Jammu, which is connected with rest of the country by the network of Rail, Air, and road. Patinitop is an ideal place to holiday. Here tourist can enjoy Paragliding, skiing, horse riding, camping etc.

The other important tourist spot which is closely situated from Patnitop is Mantalai. Mantalai temple is a famous pilgrimage place situated in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The place lies at an altitude of 2000 meters. The place is surrounded by lush deodar forests. Manatlai is one of popular tourists’ spots and is often visited by the Hindu devotees and tourists. This place has its own mythological importance and it is believed to be the meditation place of Lord Shiva. Hindu followers believe that the goddess Parvati and lord Shiva were got married here. Many temples abound the region. Temple of lord Shiva and the complex of Swami Dhirendra Brhamchari are few attractions. Further 5km down there is forest retreat of Naina Devi, a preferred tourist spot of the locals. Sudh Mahadev temple lies very close to Mantalai temple which is about 8-9 kilometers away from Mantalai and the Gauri Kund Spring. The spring is sacred to the Hindu devotees, they believes that the Goddess Parvati had bathed in that spring water before offering her prayers to the Lord Shiva.

How to reach
At a distance of 120 km from Jammu Mantalai temple is situated. You can reach there from Jammu city where closest airport and Jammu Tawi rail station lies. You can also access buses and taxi from town city Udhampur, Katra, and Jammu.
